Many people assume that losing weight must mean eating on diets full of nasty and tasteless food. Or that healthy and diet-friendly food is too expensive and too difficult to make. Delicious snacks for weight loss may sound like something impossible to you.

Guilt-Free Snacks For Weight Loss

Perhaps this is the reason you’ve been reluctant to start a diet. Maybe you’re someone who loves tasty snacks but also wants to lose weight but doesn’t think the two fit together.

Or maybe you simply don’t know which snacks actually are suitable for weight loss.

Well, I’m here to help. You need to know that you most certainly CAN eat delicious snacks and lose weight at the same time. But you do need to know which snacks really are suitable for weight loss.

So in this article, I will give you 10 easy-to-make, gluten free, and absolutely guilt-free snacks for weight loss!

1. Greek yogurt with flavor drops

Do you like flavored yogurt? Well, most flavored yogurts at stores have tons of calories and sugar. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy this delicious creamy dessert!

Plain Greek yogurt is what many snacks for weight loss are based on. It has close to zero sugar and a lot of protein! And calorie and sugar-free flavor drops are perfect for pumping up the flavor!

And sugar-free doesn’t necessarily mean it’s full of chemicals. There are a lot of flavor drops made from a natural sweetener called stevia!

So Greek yogurt with flavor drops is a healthy and delicious protein-packed snack great to have on-the-go. You can even throw in some dark chocolate for extra sweetness!

2. Carrots with hummus

This is one of my personal favorites! Carrots with hummus is a super simple and healthy snack great for weight loss! Plus it’s full of nutrients, such as protein and fiber.

It isn’t calorie-free though, so you shouldn’t go overboard. But this snack surely is great to have on-the-go or just at home with a movie!

3. Jerky

Yes, jerky IS healthy and great for weight loss! It’s just dried meat, so why wouldn’t it be, right? Personally, I think this is one of the best snacks for weight loss.

But you should definitely read the nutrition facts before buying this snack as sometimes it has added sugar in order to make it taste better.

But natural jerky is really a delicious protein-packed snack great for weight loss! In fact, 100 grams of jerky has up to 33 grams of protein!

4. Hard boiled eggs

Hard boiled eggs are great for both weight loss and as a snack on the go! Just prepare them ahead of time and grab one when you’re in a rush.

Not to mention, eggs are low in calories and filled with nutrients, such as vitamin B-12, vitamin D, selenium, and protein. One egg has just around 78 calories and 6 grams of protein!

5. Smoothies

Smoothies are great for a quick breakfast solution or just a small snack in between meals! And there are so many possible variations!

But you should keep in mind that your smoothie shouldn’t include too much sugar, even from fruits when losing weight.

That’s why I like to have protein powder in my smoothies during my diet. It gives you a big flavor boost and obviously is full of protein, which is also great, especially during weight loss!

6. Guacamole

Who doesn’t love guacamole, right? You may have thought guacamole isn’t healthy. Well, it actually is really good for you! The best choice is to make it at home because guacamole bought at stores often has a lot of added sugar and chemicals.

But people avoid fats during their diet. But this is a huge mistake! You actually really need non-saturated fats, especially during weight loss in order to ensure you stay healthy and reach the maximum results.

And personally, guacamole and avocados, in general, are my favorite source of non-saturated fats! Not only do they taste delicious, they have such a high nutritional value and are loaded with fiber. Just one avocado has around 13 grams of fiber!

7. Green vegetables

If you tend to get hungry often and always crave a snack, then just have a salad to keep you full!

Green vegetables, such as kale, cucumbers, and celery have close to zero calories but are packed with tons of vitamins and minerals. Toss them with some olive oil and lemon and you’ve got yourself a low calorie weight loss snack!


Nuts are a great snack to have in your bag in case you get hungry in between meals! They are also a great source of non-saturated healthy fat which is very important for your weight loss diet!

But nuts do have a high calorie density, so you shouldn’t have too much of them!

This is why people tend to say you should stay away from nut butters when trying to lose weight. Even though nut butters, such as peanut butter and almond butter are a great source of healthy fat, they are still very high in calories. Just think – there is somewhere around 20 peanuts in a spoon of peanut butter. Quite a lot, huh?! So, when losing weight, having some nuts rather than nut butter would make for a better snack!

We would also recommend to cut down on the trail mix. We are not saying it’s unhealthy, but trail mix usually does have dried fruit in it, which is not so good for weight loss. Just stick to plain old nuts while trying to lose weight!

9. Kale chips

These are sooo delicious! If you’re someone who loves potato chips, definitely try out kale chips!

We all know how unhealthy potato chips are. Kale chips are a great healthy alternative to them! And they have close to zero calories! Not to mention kale is a superfood, so it has a bunch of vitamins too..it’s a win-win!

And my personal favorite way of having these chips is with home-made guacamole!

You can buy kale chips at stores but be sure to avoid kale chips with added flavor as they often have sugar. The best way is actually to make them at home!

10. Sweet potato fries

I recently came across this snack and I’m super happy about it! Sweet potato fries are absolutely one of my favorite snacks for weight loss! Pair them with some guacamole and they make for the best snack ever.

I think they taste even better than regular french fries and they’re actually much healthier!

But they do have quite a bit of carbs so you should avoid eating them before bed and only have the right amount of them!
